Teaching an old dog new tricks

So I did something to get myself edumacated today.

I had talked about a course at work that I was thinking of doing that might help me become more useful to the organisation (nobody's indispensable after all!).  I discussed it with one of the staff who was a guru with techo stuff and at first she thought it might be a bit heavy for me so I went off the idea. It's been a few years since I've used my brain that intensely so I was easily convinced. Then she had another look at it, changed her mind and told me to go for it.

Today my boss said he had been looking into it and he thought it just might be a good idea.  And after all, it was only for 6 weeks, it was all online and work was paying the $190 fee!  So all good!  Except if I fail the course they might ask me to pay for it.  And I'll look like a complete idiot.  Oh well, wouldn't be the first time.

So what's the course?  Glad you asked.

Creating mobile apps.  Yep, I'm a future digital millionaire.  That is as soon as I can think of a must-have app that everyone needs.  Other than the one my daughter and I thought of where you put in a photo of two different types of dogs and it comes up with a picture of what their puppies would look like.

This                    +                   That
= ??????

  1. That's fantastic - I'm a little envious. And I'm sure there is already an app for that!! (But if not, I bet there are some crazy dog owners who'd pay good money!)

  2. I've always thought it would be great to be able to inconspicuously take a photo of someones outfit that they are wearing, and up would come where to get it and how much it cost. Instead of having to go up to a complete stranger and say "oh I just love that top! Where did you get it?" for example. Does this already exist?
